“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” — Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

11 Parents Raising Children

“All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.” — Isaiah 54:13 (NIV)

Parenting is one of the greatest callings and one of the heaviest responsibilities God entrusts to us. From the very first moment we hold a child in our arms until the day we must let them walk into the world on their own, our prayers for them never end.

But prayer is not only for our children — it is also for us as parents. We pray for wisdom in our choices, for patience in daily struggles, for strength when the weight feels too heavy, and for joy in the small moments that remind us why love is worth the work.

Equally important is praying with our children. When we fold little hands at bedtime, when we bow heads together at the dinner table, when we speak blessings before school, we are not only asking God’s protection — we are teaching them how to build their own relationship with Him. These prayers become the foundation they will carry into their own lives, long after we are gone.

There will come a day when our children must walk their path without us, but prayer ensures they never walk it without the Lord. When our time comes to leave this world, we can trust that they are in His hands, guided by the faith we planted and the prayers we sowed.

A custom prayer for parents or children can be a gift that strengthens bonds, comforts hearts, and points each generation toward the home we are all walking toward — the eternal embrace of our Heavenly Father.
